Stanford senior Amaechi Morton ran a career-best time to win the NCAA men’s 400-meter intermediate hurdles title Friday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Stanford’s Kori Carter won the 100 hurdles and competed on the winning 400 relay team. She also raced with the 1,600 relay team that finished second Saturday on the final day of the Stanford Invitational track and field meet.

In wrestling, Sophomore Garrett Schaner recorded a pin in the first bout of the night and No. 20 Stanford went on to beat host San Francisco State, 25-12.

Nnemkadi Ogwumike, as she seems to do in big games, came up big for the Stanford women’s basketball team. Toni Kokenis did a pretty good job too. Ogwumike scored a career-high 42 points and added 17 rebounds as the fourth-ranked Cardinal successfully defended its home court against sixth-ranked Tennessee, beating the Lady Vols, 97-80, Tuesday night. Kokenis added a career-high 26 points.
